I Am Yours (2013)

The emotionally heavy Norwegian film I Am Yours (2013) follows Mina (Amrita Acharia), a twenty-seven year old divorcee who shares custody of her six-year old son, Felix (Prince Singh), with her now remarried ex-hubby (Assad Siddique), a successful architect. While her ex has obviously rebounded quite nicely from the broken marriage, Mina is not as lucky. The hapless babe spends her days being chastised by her uptight, hypercritical mom Samina (Rabia Noreen), who thinks that Mina should just get back with her ex, mainly just to avoid hearing all of the gossip about her daughter from the local Norwegian-Pakistani community. Of course, Mina is lonely and looking to mingle, so when she meets Jesper (Ola Rapace), a passive-aggressive Swedish director, she goes to desperate lengths to make the caustic relationship work, even jeopardizing Felix’s well-being in the process. Ultimately, Mina’s need for love and attention from a man begins to trump her maternal expectations, inevitably dooming her relationship with her son. Thankfully, Amrita Acharia manages to cut though the film’s dreariness by providing multiple scenes of bra and panty-clad sexiness. Acharia also teases a look at her rump, before, during, and after she indulges in a super quickie with a dude that can’t manage to last longer than seven seconds. Can’t blame the dude. With an ass like that, you’ll last about the same amount of time…with yourself!
