How I Met Your Father (2022)

The Hulu Original Series How I Met Your Father, which premiered on the streaming service in early 2022, is a sequel to the hit series How I Met Your Mother, which ran on CBS for nearly a decade. The show focuses on Sophie (Hilary Duff), an unlucky in love photographer who believes that the right man is out there—the show's framing device lets us know that she does eventually find love, since Sophie narrates the show from the year 2050, where she's played by Kim Cattrall. But like the series from which it was spun-off, the fun is all in the journey. To connect the show to the original series, Sophie's friend Jesse (Christopher Lowell) is an Uber driver who lives in the apartment which was shared on the original series by Marshall, Lily, and Ted. Among their other friends are Sophie's horndog roommate Valentina (Francia Raisa), Charlie (Tom Ainsley) who moved in with Sophie and Valentina after hooking up with the latter at fashion week, Jesse's recently divorced sister Ellen (Tien Tran), and Jesse's roommate Sid (Suraj Sharma) who owns the bar where everyone hangs out. Hopefully the show doesn't end up jumping the shark the way the original series does, though its home on Hulu gives us hope that there might one day be some nudity on the show. Unfortunately there wasn't any sexy content in the first episode, though the second episode did open with Hilary Duff and Francia Raisa working out in some sexy spandex leotards! Fingers crossed these ladies might lose another article of clothing with each successive episode!
