Geneviève Lemon Nude

If you’re a fan of writer/director/producer Jane Campion, then you’re already familiar with the work of Aussie actress Geneviève Lemon, who has worked with the renowned talent in a plethora of projects. The actress became a fan favorite on television with her role as Zelda Baker in The Young Doctors in 1983, then as Marlene “Rabbit” Warren in 74 episodes of Prisoner from 1984-1985. In 1989, she was cast in the film Sweetie, written and directed by Campion, who received a New Generation Award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, and for which audiences got an up close and personal look at all of Geneviève’s ample assets, albeit covered in mud. The star also took the role of Nessie in The Piano (1993) with Holly Hunter and Harvey Keitel, and Rahi in Holy Smoke (1999) with Kate Winslet and Harvey Keitel, both of which Campion also wrote and directed. The leading lady also nabbed the role of Josie in Soft Fruit (1999), which Campion produced; was Auntie Dianne in the comedy drama Suburban Mayhem (2006); reunited with Kate Winslet in The Dressmaker (2015), playing Mae McSwiney with Liam Hemsworth and Judy Davis; and starred with Keith Carradine, Jesse Plemons, and Benedict Cumberbatch in The Power of the Dog (2021), written, directed, and produced by Campion. The thespian also continued her popularity on TV down under as Brenda Riley in Neighbours from 1991-1992, Josephine Donnelly in After the Beep in 1996, in Rake as Tikki Wendon in 2014, in Home and Away as Hazel Easton in 2018, Shirley in Frayed in 2019, and Fiona Palmer in Eden in 2021. She also played the character of Bunny in Top of the Lake (another Campion venture) with Elisabeth Moss, running on Sundance TV in the US. Geneviève is also a singer, who has performed in cabarets all over Australia—which Jane Campion had nothing to do with.
