With a sweetly demure face, wide-set sparkling eyes, and a sun-kissed smattering of freckles across her petite nose, honey-haired Emma Amos is the archetypal classic English Rose, right down to her blushing reluctance to offer up her posies for the plucking. Luckily, the British babe made her sole skin scene—her film debut, no less—a doozy. She burst onto the acting scene by bursting out of her garments in the period piece Rowing with the Wind (1987), playing the part of Joven Veneciana alongside Hugh Grant and Elizabeth Hurley. When she runs across the room to greet her lover, she’s bare-breasted and fully bushed (period piece, remember?), and those glorious jigglers are doing their thing in leaps and bounds in time with her steps. With a career spanning decades, she’s been in a ton of movies and TV series, and is probably best known to American film fans as Paula in Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001) with Renée Zellweger, or as a cynical woman in the Oscar-nominated Vera Drake (2004); and if you’re a music fan, perhaps from the UK film Buddy’s Song (1991) with Roger Daltrey, with Emma playing Dawn. She’s also a stage actress, and was trained at the Royal College of Music. On UK television, the enticing Emma was Kathy in the series Moving Story from 1994-1995; as Julie Davies in The Last Detective from 2003-2007; as Yvonne in Goodnight Sweetheart from 1997-1999, with a reprisal in 2016; and appeared in several episodes of The Stand Up Sketch Show from 2019-2021.
