Vincent Van Gogh famously cut off his ear for the woman he loved. It’s one of the stranger gifts in the annals of romance but understandable, especially if anyone has seen the radiant charms of the French brunette Corinne Bourdon. She’s only been in two movies, the first Sous le soleil de Satan (1987) and then the biopic Van Gogh (1991), where she plays one of the muses that makes an impression on the crazy Expressionist. But that limited exposure is enough to paint a beautiful picture in the pants of viewers everywhere. Corinne’s bath scene toward the end of the movie proves that parting is such sweet sorrow. While she was never seen onscreen again, she left us with a reason to grab our brush.
