A fixture of South African television for decades, this beautiful boss lady got her start in the mid 90s, exuding main character energy from the get-go on the popualr soap opera Generations. Though she left the series after sixteen years to pursue other projects, she eventually returned as Karabo Moroka in the 2014 relaunch, Generations: The Legacy. In 2010 Connie, and her husband Shona Ferguson launched their own television company Ferguson Films and it was through that business that Connie took on the additonal title of producer for her next television drama series, The Queen, which she starred in until 2023. When Shona created the crime drama Kings of Jo’burg for Netflix in 2020, he cast his goddess of a wife as another mythical being - the mermaid spirit of the Masire family. Shona also starred as the main character, Simon Masire, a kingpin of the criminal underworld who eventually dies and passes the crown on to his twin sister Veronica - a role that also ended up being played by Connie, who then inherits the mermaid spirit. Somewhere between Season One and Season Three of the series, one of the show’s more brilliant thinkers decided the scary mermaid needed to be more... boobalicious, thus we were gifted some impressive CGI cha chas on Connie, though we have a feeling her real ones are even more spec-rack-ular!
