Blackbird (2007)

Set in mid-90s Manhattan, the indie shoegazer Blackbird (2007) follows the dead-in-the-water courtship of two sad sack junkies—Baylis (Paul Sparks), a Gulf War veteran and Froggy (Gillian Jacobs), an ex-stripper. Despite their heroin addictions, the two find time to fall in love with each other. But their lust for smack and their inability to live life proves to be stronger than love, and it’s only a matter of time before the two are holding hands down their converging path of self-destruction. Though Gillian Jacobs somehow manages not to show any nudity during her stripper audition, she does grace us with some underwear-clad action. Also, fellow stripper Annie Parisse steps up and shows off her suck sacks while grinding on some dude’s junk in da club! Now that’s the spirit!
