Beyond Sleep (2016)

Beyond Sleep (2016) is a Norwegian drama that tells the story of a young man’s quest to find a fallen rock from the sky while trekking through the harsh wilderness of Norway. Alfred (Reniout Sholten van Aschat) is a geologists whose solo journey into the unknown tests his mental and physical being by driving him to the edge of his own sanity.

This film is beautifully shot, acted and is an excellent analysis on existentialism and the human spirit…oh, did we forget to mention that there’s a giant naked woman? In a state of delusion, 3-inch-tall Alfred is scaling the vast, bare landscape of a gorgeous naked woman. (Zoi Gorman) He navigates through her flesh mountains and as he gets to the edge of her furry-forest, he begins to bang her-literally. After a good old fashion staring contest, she crushes him with him with the palm of her hand…a power every beautiful, naked woman has the ability to do to even the strongest of man. This scene alone is worth watching this film. As the film may portray this as a delusion, we consider this one of the best dreams you could possibly have. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have some sheet laundry to do.
