Bad Behaviour (2023)

Based on the 2015 memoir by Australian writer Rebecca Starford, the four-part drama begins with a chance meeting at a concert hall in Melbourne where cleaner and cocktail waiter Joanna “Jo” McKenzie (Jana McKinnon) runs into cellist and former classmate Alice Kang (Yerin Ha). This encounter sparks memories of the time ten years prior that the two spent at the “wilderness campus” of Silver Creek, an exclusive boarding school, where 15-year-olds spend a year living together in dormitory rooms with minimal adult supervision. The two scholarship students started out as friends, but things shifted when Jo falls under the influence of the dormitory’s toxic, domineering queen bee Portia (Markella Kavenagh), turning Jo from bullied to bully. It doesn’t help that Jo was also exploring her sexuality so group showers and teenage antics like streaking naked through the woods had her battling a complicated attraction to Portia that bubbled up in a scene where she masturbates in bed. Their problematic relationship has continued into the present, where Jo’s grown into a manipulative adult, playing fast and loose with the feelings of her roommate Saskia, played by Daya Czepansi, making her nude debut showing T&A during some tantalizing tribbing with a naked Jana. We know it’s bad, but it feels sooooo good!
