Biography

Born in Naples, Italy, in 1938, Angela Luce's last name translates to light in English. Mr. Skin is sure there’s hidden meaning in that, but he’s rather distracted at the moment to decipher it, given that he’s watching the Italian actress bare it all as Peronella in Decameron (1971). The first film in director Pier Paolo Pasolini's so-called Trilogy of Life, the poster for the film actually shows Angela front and center, her rear covered by a filmy skirt. In the flick, though, the only thing the actress is actually wearing is a weird little scarf-hat on her head. In bed with a dude, her ass fully visible, he shifts her around so she can give him a blowie, fully revealing her ripe figure to the camera, sans the pleasure triangle. She’s a woman worth getting distracted over. Not her first film, and not her last, this title fell somewhere in the middle for the brunette beauty, who began her on-screen career in early twenties. She never made it out of Italy for any of the 50-plus movies she filmed, and added ten different mini-series roles to her resume as well. Not to mention TV shows and TV movies—which Mr. Skin just did. Inside her home country, she won a David di Donatello Award (like an Oscar) for her role as Amalia in L’amore Molesto (1995), aka Troubling Love. The star was also known for her voice, and actually entered the entertainment world at the age of 14 when she sang at an annual music festival in Naples. And with that, Mr. Skin has come full circle, beginning and ending in an Italian city. Ciao.
