Biography

Beauty queen Aliza Gur (born Aliza Gross and often credited as Alizia with a second “i”) held the title of Miss Israel in 1960, and placed in the top 15 in the Miss Universe pageant—quite the accomplishment, since she was only a teenager at the time. The dark-haired, strong-browed beauty emigrated to the United Sates in her 20s, landing roles as Maria in Ghost Squad in 1963 and Taxi! as Tina Dobson that same year. And then came Bond, James Bond. As gypsy girl Vida in From Russia With Love (1963), the actress gets down and dirty when she engages in a woman-on-woman cat-fight scene. She removes her scarf, ties it around her waist, and lets her midriff-baring top with a very low V-front show off her pageant-winning twin set before she pounces. During a very active wrestling romp with her female foe, we’re also treated to a few sexy seconds of her decadent derriere in mildly cheeky bottoms. Meee-owww. Alluring Aliza also made several other memorable films after her 007 debut, including Night Train to Paris (1964) as Catherine Carrel co-starring with a young Leslie Nielson of Airplane! fame, Agent for H.A.R.M. (1966) as Mid-Eastern Contact, as Tisa in Kill a Dragon(1967) with Jack Palance, Myrna in Tarzan and the Jungle Boy (1968), and as Marissa in Beast of Morocco(1968). The sultry siren also had guest spots on numerous hit television shows through the ‘60s, and can listThe Big Valley, Perry Mason, Daniel Boone, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Get Smart, and the The Wild Wild Weston her credit sheet.
