Claude Chabrol’s only venture into the realm of fantasy, Alice (1977), starring Sylvia Kristel, is based loosely on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Moody and evocative with gothic decor and gauzy photography, this version explores Alice's central question to herself, "Who am I?" Don't miss Kristel's extended full-frontal scene: The long, slow shot of her bare bush before she remembers to cover up is one for the books.
