She has really, really, really long hair. Although that’s not really all you notice about Adele Yoshioka in her skinematic performance as Sunny in Magnum Force (1973), a Clint Eastwood, Dirty Harry special. But when she steps out the bathroom totally naked, the length of her hair draws your eyes directly to the promised land that, even though the light is dim, is clearly uncovered for Harry’s and our viewing pleasure. Clint also gets to make out with her, and we catch a glimpse of side boob in the process. This role fell somewhere in the middle of the San Diego native’s acting career, her first being a Kohm servant in Star Trek: The Original Series in 1968. She followed that up as a dancer in the “Big Spender” number in the Shirley McLaine musical Sweet Charity (1969), and then as Suzuki in Norman Jewison’s Gaily, Gaily (1969). You can also find her on the big screen as a street entertainer in Swashbuckler (1976) with James Earl Jones, as a cashier in Distant Cousins(1993), as a nurse in The Nurse (1997), and as a lab assistant in A Table for One (1999). Somewhere along the way, Adele switched roles in Hollywood, and became the Vice President of International Distribution for Millennium Films, part of the crew that brought you such movies as Lee Daniels’ The Paperboy (2012) with Matthew McConaughey and Nicole Kidman, The Iceman (2012) with Winona Ryder and Chris Evans, Lovelace(2013) with Amanda Seyfried and Sharon Stone, Homefront (2013) with Jason Statham and James Franco, Criminal (2016) with Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds, and The Outpost (2019) with Orlando Bloom and….Scott Eastwood, which seems about right.
