A Little White Lie (2023)

A New York handyman (Michael Shannon) gets confused for the author of a best-selling book called The Goat Time because they share the same last name of Shriver and he decides to attend a literary festival at a Midwestern university when he’s invited by mistake. While most fellow attendees, like festival organizer Simone Cleary (Kate Hudson) are overjoyed to have him, it’s revealed during a Q&A with a feminist author named Blythe Brown (Aja Naomi King) that a growing number of people think the book has not aged well. The film goes from being a fish-out-of-water story to a dark mystery when Brown suddenly disappears and the fake Shriver becomes the main suspect. But what’s a movie set at a university without a few partying coeds? Cue blonde beauty Peyton List bouncing around by a pool in a red bikini! Look’s like Shannon definitely got A Room With A View! Seriously, is she a library book, because we can’t stop checking her out!
