A Class by Himself

A six episode series from 1972, chances are that you’d have to search really hard to get a look at A Class By Himself. Old Lord Bleasham (John Le Mesurier of Dad’s Army fame) lives in his immense ancestral home, Bleasham Hall. Living with him are his chauffeur, Clutton (Peter Butterworth) and Barnaby Locke (Richard Stilgoe), a student. In typical English upper class tradition, Bleasham is short of cash and doesn’t know what to do to get by but Barnaby always has ideas about how to make a little money on the side. But forget all that, the best reason to catch this little known series is the actress playing Le Mesurier’s daughter, Seretta Wilson. The doe-eyed veteran of such horror flicks as Tower of Evil and Killer With Two Faces, as well as the sex farce Keep It Up Downstairs, gorgeous Seretta didn’t drop the duds in this short-lived TV outing but she sure looked good not doing it.
