Women at War (2022)

This French limited series focuses on four women in crisis in the small village of Saint-Paulin during the German invasion of 1914. Marguerite de Lancastel (Audrey Fleurot) is a newly arrived sex worker, Jeanne Charrier (Romane Portail) is a smuggler helping a nurse named Suzanne Faure (Camille Lou) evade the police, Mother Superior Agnès (Julie De Bona) has turned the town’s covent into a military hospital, and Caroline Dewitt (Sofia Essaïdi) has been keeping the family’s truck factory running and taking care of her daughter and mother-in-law since her husband joined the army as an engineer. Their paths intersect when Jeanne is killed and Suzanne takes over her identity, helping at the convent while trying to plan an escape, Carolina decides to help the war effort by manufacturing ambulances, and Marguerite searches for her son who is part of the French army. And while Audrey’s Marguerite boasts some impressive cleavage in her tight, lacy corset, it’s Julie’s naughty nun who has the most skinsational scenes, going topless during self flagellation and stripping down completely when she falls for a wounded German.
