Westside Medical

In the 1977 series Westside Medical, three Doctors named Lanagan (James Sloyan), Cottrell (Linda Carlson), and Parker (Ernest Thompson), along with Carrie the receptionist (Alice Nunn), open a full-service clinic in Southern California. This is certainly not the most original or exciting premise ever thought up for a medical drama, and apparently the Nielson families agreed. The clinic was shut down after ten episodes, with three unaired installments still in the can. As far as we can tell, nobody has missed it much. You probably won’t miss much if you skip the 1992 film The Pickle either--except for former Westside Medical star Linda Carlson’s nude scene, which is of unknown quality or quantity. If you get to it before we do, let us know if it’s any good.
