Waldolala

While the name sounds like a strange hybrid of the Where’s Waldo? books and the bandDishwalla, this 1977 series from the Netherlands is actually about one Waldo van Dungen (Dolf Brouwers). Waldo, who has been given the down-and-out nightclub Waldolala as a present from his wife, tries desperately to keep the club’s finances in the black, with much hilarity ensuing along the way.  A typical example of the show’s humor is the episode where Waldo’s master of ceremonies complains about the toilet stalls in the men’s room being defiled with obscenities. When club patron Doctor Lindt makes an analysis of the graffiti scrawls, he deduces that Waldo must have written them himself. Sure enough, Waldo is caught red-handed signing restroom poetry with the moniker of “Jack Mehoff.” Cue laugh track!Waldolala co-star Hannah de Leeuwe is not what we would call a “looker” by any means. But if you like more cushion for the pushin’, then she’s your gal in Keetje Tippel, where she boasted a sizeable set of cans that were well in proportion with the rest of her big bold sassy self. Oh yeah, and a couple of other naked ladies were right there alongside her.
