Smart and hot, Vera Filatova received a Masters degree in Philosophy from the London School of Economics, then a BA in Acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. With stunning blue-green eyes and long, dark, hair, she was a shoe-in to nab roles as soon as she graduated, starting with her debut as a tribe leader in the film Children of Men (2006) with Julianne Moore and Clive Owen. She did pop-up roles on UK television series The Last Detective, The Bill, MI-5, and Blue Murder. The very vibrant Vera headed back to the big screen for a part as Eva in Vampire Killers (2009) with James Corden, and one as Teta in The Pagan Queen(2009), where she lays naked on a rock, a trap for marauding soldiers, her bare breasts and miles of creamy skin calling to the passersby. Other feature film credits include the part of Monika in The Look of Love (2013) with Anna Friel and Imogen Poots, Rivka Sorkin in The Book of Vision (2020) with Charles Dance and Lotte Verbeek, Kalyna in the Canadian film They Who Surround Us (2020), and Molly Bloom in The Ulysses Project(2022) with John Turturro. On the little screen Vera found popularity and success in the series Blue Murder as Tanya Lucas and Peep Show as Elena, both in 2009; starring as Svetlana in the mini-series The Deep (2010); as Inca in the series Me and Mrs. Jones in 2012; and starring in the TV movie Nameless Nobody (2013) as Netochka Nezvanova.
