Unser Charly

Unser Charly is a TV series that’s been on the air in Germany since 1995. It’s a comedy and a drama about a family that centers on the father, a veterinarian and his wife, played by Karin Kienzer, their daughter, played by Friederike Moller and a chimpanzee. Yes, a chimpanzee, whose name gives the show its title. There’s a lot of melodrama here, from the chimp who escapes from an animal-testing facility to the daughter who gets hurt and may be paralyzed. But we’ll take those plot devices because they give room to some nudity. In an episode called “Heimlichkeitenfor,” Karin Kienzer shows off her tits. Isabell Gerschke also gets naked. And did we say that a chimp is a main character?
