Underground (2016-2017)

Underground, at first glance, seems like a TV adaption of movies you've already seen, like 12 Years a Slave. That observation isn't entirely wrong—it is a show about runaway slaves right before the start of the Civil War. This WGN America show is different though. Not only does it have more of a soap opera take, complete with drama, sex scenes, and plot twists, but it also has an entirely modern soundtrack. (Think Kanye West's "Black Skinhead".) The end result is amazing, something that pull history into modern times and makes it—well, not fun, but something very engaging. And speaking of engaging, this new series brought us some nudity courtesy of Amirahh Vann, who plays the leader of the house slaves and strips down to pour red wine all over her body to seduce a dude.
