Through Black Spruce (2019)

When you think of Canada, you usually think about maple syrup, hockey, and a Double-Double from Timmie's...  Or at least that's the thousand mile high view of our great neighbor to the north, but there is actually a dark underbelly of our sweet and friendly northern Ned Flanders types.  Through Black Spruce (2019) follows a "First Nations" or native Canadian Cree family, lead by the head strong hunter Annie Bird (Tanaya Beatty) all the way up in Northern Ontario.  When he twin sister heads down south to the big bad city of Toronto and begins a successful modeling career, she becomes caught up in a dark underworld of the modeling community she immerses herself in, subsequently disappearing.  Annie decides the best thing to do is leave her distraught family in the great north woods, head south, and start to ask questions about the disappearance of her sister to those closest to her in Toronto.  It's kind of hard to not get caught up in your twin sister's lifestyle when everyone involved in that lifestyle thinks you are her!  As she spirals into the big city life and the modeling community, she also starts to unravel the mysteries around her sister's disappearance.  So what is the best thing about this movie outside of the obvious casting of the incomparably sexy Tanaya Beatty???  It's giving her dual roles, because the only thing sexier than one of her, is two of her!  With her adorable Canadian accent, model-esque face, and a shadowy left boob display in bed that marks her Nude-Comer debut, we definitely recommend this movie on her performance alone.  Come for the nudity, but stay for a riveting crime and underworld drama centered around strong and sexy First Nations women!
