Miriam A. Hyman has a suggestive name, but she has broken through that surname to become a multi-faceted Black artist. She is not only an actress known for her versatility, but she is also a lyricist and musician who has won awards and worked with several famous and respected people in her industry. She was raised in Philadelphia, PA, where she began her interest in theater. In fact, she went to Yale School of Drama to further her acting studies and won the Princess Grace Award and Leonore Annenberg Fellowship for Performing Arts. From there she began acting off-Broadway and slowly got into voiceover work and onscreen acting. She's best known for playing Dr. Emile Cooper in Blue Bloods, but you might recognize her from her work in High Maintenance, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Falling Water, Blacklist, 30 Rock, Law & Order, The Wire, The Rookie, NCIS and so many more.
