T.J. Hooker

No Nudity

Review

If William Shatner will ever be remembered for any other character than the legendary “Captain James T. Kirk” from Star Trek then it will undoubtedly be for his portrayal of the hard-as-nails cop “T.J. Hooker” in the crime series of the same title! Initially broadcast from 1982 to 1986 (ninety-one episodes in five seasons) it marked a comeback for Kirk… sorry, Shatner. The story centered on LCPD (Los Angeles County Police Department) police officer T.J. Hooker who, after his partner’s death, gets assigned to train academy recruits. One of them, the often short-tempered but ambitious Vince Romano (Adrian Zmed) subsequently becomes his new partner, while another one, namely Stacy Sheridan (Heather Locklear) gets teamed up with Hooker’s long-time colleague Jim Corrigan (James Darren). As a result those two units often co-operated in order to bust various criminals. All in all T.J. Hooker may be a bit dated by now, but the action-sequences are well-photographed and it’s worth watching if only to catch one of the campy moralistic speeches Hooker used to give to either his young inferiors or some kind of villain whom he had just caught. Funnny stuff! Nudity? Forget it, but supporting actress Shawn Weatherly, who went on to become the first Baywatch member with a non-surgically enhanced rack, showed off in two other flicks. Check out her aforementioned B-cups in the B-flicks Thieves of Fortune and Amityville 1992: It's About Time. In addition, Shawn’s Baywatch successor Nicole Eggert is of course best known for releasing her back then still real mini-hooters in the classic sex-thriller Blown Away.
