Somebody Somewhere (2022-2023)

Somebody Somewhere (2021) stars the amazing performance artist and actress Bridget Everett as a young woman named Sam who hails from a small town in Kansas. She seems like a normal, Kansas girl, but she has always struggled to feel like she has a place in her community. She felt that she was often the butt of jokes and cruel gossip which have made her wary of returning home. She is home and dealing with love and loss as she still tries to find her place in this place years later. She came home to help take care of her sick teacher about a year ago and that was the focus of her life. Her sister died six months prior and she is still having a really hard time dealing with the death and figuring out what to do next. Should she stay in town? Leave? Luckily, new friends in town and new activities help her find a place in this weird, small Kansas community. It turns out that she can be a somebody in a somewhere (title!) like this in this heartwarming HBO drama. Bridget walks out onto her front porch wearing just a T-shirt and some striped panties to tell a construction worker that it's too early for him to do construction right now. He tells her that it's not, actually, because it's past noon. Whoops! Then she chats with the construction worker outside and shows off her underwear-clad crotch to him. He seems to like what he sees!
