Soil (2021)

The Belgian series Grond, or Soil, tells the sordid tale of a Moroccan widower who is retiring to Mecca and leaves his repatriation business to his children. While his daughter Nadia (Ahlaam Teghadouini) is the far more responsible and trustworthy of the two children, Muslim law forbids him from leaving the business solely to her, so her deadbeat brother Ismael (Yassine Ouaich) must be included as co-owner. With no work ethic or good ideas, Ismael seems determined to run the business into the ground so he can be free of it to do as he pleases, until he hits on a money making scheme that, while hare-brained, just might be the key to turning the flagging business around!
