Scottish hottie Shauna Macdonald was born in Malaysia where her father was working, but the family moved back to Scotland while she was still a baby. As a kid, she had a lisp which made her very shy. Her mother put her in a choir group that also did musical theatre hoping it would help her and she took to it like a fish to water. When she was just 12, she joined the Brunton Youth Theatre where she met and become friends with then 14-year-old James McAvoy. She was discovered by her agent while working as a house cleaner for the agent’s brother then made her screen debut at the age of 17 in The Debt Collector (1999). From there, her career took off and she has now appeared in more than 50 movies and TV series. She is most well-known in the UK for her work in the popular horror movie The Descent (2005).
