Schmigadoon! (2021-2023)

Schmigadoon! is a high concept musical comedy series that debuted on Apple TV in the summer of 2021. The show follows a pair of successful New York City based doctors, GP Josh (Keegan Michael Key) and OB-GYN Melissa (Cecily Strong) who decide that in order to work on their struggling relationship, they will go on a backpacking trip together. Of course, this does absolutely nothing to solve their problems as they still bicker constantly, that is until they stumble upon a small town known as Schmigadoon, a town trapped in a 1940s musical—a la the musical Brigadoon. Melissa and Josh attempt to make a quick exit out of town, but soon discover that to be impossible when a magical leprechaun (Martin Short) informs them that they must find true love if they ever hope to leave. Musical veterans like Kristin Chenoweth, Jane Krakowski, Alan Cumming, Aaron Tveit, Ariana DeBose, and Dove Cameron populate the cast of characters in town, and musical numbers come fast and furious throughout nearly every episode. Thanks to a game cast, the premise works and it's every bit as funny as it is charming, with everyone in town representing characters from legendary works of musical theatre, rewarding the more theatre-literate audience members with tons of inside baseball jokes. The show is also (mostly) family friendly, so don't go in expecting any skin! There is a sexy scene in episode five where the always sexy Jane Krakowski does a musical number that finds her flashing us some looks at her panties and long legs, but that's about the extent of the sexiness! Come for the music and comedy, but go elsewhere to cum!
