A funny thing happens when you watch Police (1985). No, not the TV reality show Cops or the new wave band, but the French film starring Sophie Marceau. What occurs is udder disappointment because sexy Sophie for once doesn't flash her floppers. But sometimes victory is snatched from the jaws of defeat, and in this case that snatch belongs to the nakedly ambitious Sandrine Bonnaire. It is in every American's breast interest to get to know this usually naked and never-trimmed, full-frontal Parisian pretty. She first came on the scene after rising to the top from the flood of adolescent hopefuls looking for a role in À nos amours (1983). And viewers came creamy buckets thanks to her ample skin. She won a César, which is the French version of the Oscar. But with nude-worthy performances in such films as Tir à vue (1984), Le Milleur de la vie (1985), and La Peste (1992), it's obvious this baguette-pleaser deserves the booby prize.
