Rosamund Hanson has made quite the career out of playing a girl named “Smell.” After popping up in just one episode of a TV series, the Derby-born British babe landed her odor-riffic role in the crime, drama movie This Is England (2006). Both a commercial and critical hit, it garnered 14 wins and 16 nominations from various organizations and film festivals around the globe, including multiple Oscar-like awards from different countries. Rosamund played the role again in the mini-series spin-off This Is England ’86 (2010), and again in the mini-series This Is England ’88 (2011), and yet again in another mini-series This Is England ‘90 (2015). The original movie in 2006 is where her character, sporting a blonde mohawk, yanks down her top to expose her tiny twosome, which are pretty awesome. The starlet, the daughter of dressing-gown designer Daniel Hanson (it’s a thing; he’s done them for Elton John, Sean Connery, etc.), grew up in Nottingham, and decided on a career in acting after playing Kaa in her school’s production of The Jungle Book. She attended The Television Workshop—a good thing--she went on to star in several UK TV programs, extending her Smell talent to Bonnie Tyler in Shameless in 2011 (the UK version), Charlie Easter in Mr. Blue Sky in 2012, and Cheryl in the HBO series Life’s Too Short with Ricky Gervais from 2011-2013. On the big screen, she was Clare in the comedy, drama film We are the Freaks (2013), Nadia in the comedy Benny & Jolene (2014), aka Jolene: The Indie Folk Star Movie. Smell you later!
