Singer. Dancer. Songwriter. Seductress. These words come to mind when thinking about Normani, the woman wonder who goes only by one name. She got her start in the all-female tribe Fifth Harmony, the same one that also gave the music world Camila Cabello. After the girl group ended, Normani was given her own recording contract from RCA Records, and she became, as Rolling Stone magazine describes her, “a big-voiced dance machine with a flair for diva-like showmanship.” She’s had hit duets with Sam Smith and Khalid, and has made fans of Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna, who named her as the first brand ambassador for her Savage x Fenty lingerie line (you can see Normani busting out of some of those bras right here on Skin Central). Normani was born in Atlanta, moved to New Orleans, then got transplanted to Houston when her home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina when she was nine-years old. She always knew she wanted to be an entertainer, and pursued it diligently until she finally wound up on X Factor, the reality singing competition, where they paired her with other girls to form Fifth Harmony. As a solo artist, Normani toured with pint-sized powerhouse Ariana Grande, who co-wrote her single “Motivation”—the video for which has a whopping 147 million views on YouTube. She’s also racking up views for her song “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B—in its first month alone, it garnered 34 million views. It could be because both stars are literally butt-naked and clutching each other, with their prominent backsides on full display... Seductress doesn’t even begin to cover it.
