My Mistress (2014)

With its earlier release, the Australian film My Mistress (2014) beat the British-American S&M hit Fifty Shades of Grey (2015) to the punch (so to speak). But just because this Aussie pic isn’t as well known as Dakota Johnson’s star-making movie doesn’t mean it’s not worth watching — especially since it includes a kinky topic involving skin. The drama begins when teenaged Charlie Boyd (Harrison Gilbertson) is reeling over his father’s suicide. It doesn’t help when he discovers his mother Kate (Rachael Blake) has been carrying on a secret affair. While seeking a distraction from the pain his parents have caused, the dude meets Maggie (Emmanuelle Beart, aka Emmanuelle B). Looks like Charlie’s mission is accomplished since Maggie is an older French woman who moonlights as a BSDM mistress! She takes the wounded young man under her wing (among other parts of the anatomy) and opens up his life in new and exciting ways. For example, Emmanuelle struts her stuff in lots of leather. To guarantee authenticity, the skinternational production sought the advice of Brazilian dominatrix Kalyss Mercury and French dominatrix Maîtresse Françoise behind the scenes. Merci beaucoup! Ironically, the dominatrix on screen shares a tender sex scene at the 01:23-minute mark. That’s when Mr. Gilbertson gets to kiss Ms. Beart’s bare breast! But not before he pulls up her dress and peels off her black lace panties. Since said undies are see-through, we are treated to a brief view of Emmanuelle’s muff. No wonder this flick takes place in the Bush!
