The large-breasted, black-haired Mika Quintard sometimes goes only by Mika, because you only need one name when you have a pair like that. She got her start in some decidedly eighties movies like the drag racer Burning Rubber (1981), the Sarah Jessica Parker dance flick Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1985) and the zany comedy American Drive-in (1985). But if Mika's career was going to have a launching point, it was likely when she starred in the Knots Landing episode "The Lady or the Tiger." “The Lady or the Tiger” is a famous short story from the late 1800's where a guy who loves a princess has to choose between two doors: one with a woman he needs to marry if he walks through it and one with a tiger. The princess tells him which door to go through, leaving the reader to wonder if she sent her true love to marry someone else or to get mauled by a big cat. It's supposed to be an allegory about an unsolvable problem, but after showing up on a hit show like that one, Mika had no problem getting her next role. It came in the beloved Cabrini-Green set horror project Candyman (1992) where Mika played a television reporter' work she reexamined in the documentary The Complete history of Candyman (2021). Our only peek at Mika's mammaries came in the Hawaii set (and stacked set heavy) action adventure film Hard Hunted (1992). There's no door that opens up to a lady, since in the movie's most memorable scene Mika makes no attempt to hide her body, going topless in an outdoor shower. She ends up getting shot by a helicopter, though. At least we get to see her boppers before she gets cut down by some choppers. But just when it seemed like Mika was destined for big things, she stopped acting and only returned sixteen years later for a lone episode of The Lovers at the Call Center. We would have loved to see her do more. Mika Quintard, you make-a me hard!
