Michelle Kim was labelled as “Hot Korean Girl” for one fabulous role, and it’s safe to say she was typecast—in a totally good way. In The Interview (2014), Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s creation starring Rogen and James Franco, Michelle loses her top and plays a sordid game of pseudo basketball with a gang of girls and a shirtless Franco. But long before that momentous occasion, the University of California-Irvine graduate was a gangly 13-year old playing Evelyn Kwong on Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide from 2006-2007. She had one more role as a teenager, as Sarah in the TV movie Hackett (2008) starring Donal Logue, then shuffled away from Hollywood temporarily to do a little growing up. She came back in The Interview, and made appearances on television as a publicist in The Arrangement, Emily Chu on Ray Donovan, Chloe Tan in The Gifted, and Jenny in Shameless, all in 2017. Michelle took the role of Tanisha Bae in the web series Growing Up Immigrant in 2018, and also the recurring role of ASW3 Kitty “Stinger” Wallace in TNT’s The Last Ship. When she’s not still popping up in series like iCarly and Lucifer in 2021, Korean American Michelle is a professional photographer in the L.A. area, works with college kids at The Church at Rocky Peak, and hangs out with her husband, the owner of a DJ company and a pastor at Rocky Peak. They are both deeply religious, and take every Monday off “to invest in our own marriage.”
