If you happen to get a good look at Marilyn Dodds Frank, you're going to recognize her from one of the countless smaller roles she's taken on over the years. She has roots primarily in the world of Chicago theater, having been a regular on the stage at Steppenwolf, Looking Glass, and The Goodman theaters. This explains a lot about the projects that she has been in over the years, which include a boatload of productions that took place in Chicago. She was in Flatliners (1990), Blink (1993), High Fidelity (2000), and The Watcher (2000), all of which were filmed in the Windy City. You probably recognize her best from High Fidelity (2000), in which she played the mom of a girl that John Cusack broke the heart of in high school, who blows him off over the phone. She also played the lady who Seth Rogen and Steve Carell accidentally smashed her TV while carrying it out to her car in The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005). Lucky for us, we dug deep back into the late 1980s and found her full frontal foray in the Charles Bronson lead action flick Kinjite: Forbidden Subjects (1989). It's a "blink and you'll miss it" nude debut, but it's definitely enough to stop, rewind and appreciate the amazing sexiness of a venerable actress from The Second City!
