Maradona: Blessed Dream (2021)

Great Nudity!

Review

Despite most Americans being completely and totally ignorant to the world of professional soccer—case in point, we're the only country who doesn't call it football—odds are good you've at least heard of Diego Maradona. Like Pelé, Ronaldinho, and Cristiano Ronaldo, Maradona has transcended the game and become an international superstar off the pitch, so it's not hard to see why he'd eventually get his own television series, Maradona: Blessed Dream, which debuted on Amazon Prime in the fall of 2021. The Argentinian legend is played by three actors, each at different stages of his life. As a teenager, who made his professional debut several days shy of his 16th birthday, he's played by Nicolás Goldschmidt, while he's played in his 20s and early 30s—at the height of his professional success—by Nazareno Casero. In the controversial waning days of his life, he's played by the grizzled Juan Palomino, who digs deep to show the man ravaged by drugs and controversy as the series jumps around in time to show how Maradona went from the toast of the town to a pariah to working his way back into the public's good graces just prior to his death in late 2020. Since he lived the life of a rock star, there's a lot of skin in the series as a young Maradona bed hops between babes like a showgirl played by Romina Ricci who bares all in their hotel room encounter, to Eva De Dominici, who left her bare butt scene to a body double! Even if you don't like soccer, this series is guaranteed to help you score!
