Originally from Brooklyn, Makeda studied theater at New York University, where she learned the ropes on acting and how to playwright, then she moved out to Los Angeles to continue her pursuits. She first became a familiar face in her very first acting gig, which was a recurring role on House of Payne in 2012, where she played hippie chick, Summer. After that, the success just started pouring in for her with appearances on popular shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, How to Get Away With Murder, Bosch, Veep, Forever, Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens, and plenty more! She also wrote, produced, and starred in her own semi-autobiographical web-series called Just Makeda along the way as well. So, she is definitely a familiar face on one of your favorite shows, even if you aren't familiar with her name just yet. Makeda has been making her way into some feature films as well over the last few years, having been in The Thinning (2016), All the Creature Were Stirring (2018), and Psycho Granny (2019).
