Born Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor in Auckland, New Zealand, Lorde is a lady of Croatian-Irish descent who first found fame when she and a friend won the annual talent show at Belmont Intermediate School. Their win got them an appearance on a local radio show and the recording of their covers made it’s way to Universal Music Group, who signed her in 2009. While still performing as part of the duo Ella & Louis, Lorde started writing her own songs and eventually ventured out as a solo artist. In 2013, she had her first mega hit with the song “Royals” which received widespread acclaim and broke multiple records. By 2025, she was set to release her fourth studio album, Virgin, after teasing fans for about a year, and she would tease them even more when the video for the second single “Man of the Year” hit the internet. The vid has Lorde losing her top and flashing her petite pair until she herself manually covers them with duct tape. Then that’s how she stays for the rest of the song. Even as she’s writhing around in a pile of dirt, only two pieces of tape separate the audience from the singer’s naked breasts. If that wasn't enough, Lorde added her bare booty to the mix when she undressed for the video of another song off the album, "Hammer." Lorde have mercy!
