The lovely Leyna Bloom is in full bloom indeed when she's onscreen. The Chicago-born trans actress is half Filipina and half Black. She had a childhood filled with struggle after her mother was deported and she was raised by her father who, luckily, supported his daughter's decision to transition. She also grew up dancing and trained in everything from ballet and vogue to jass and tap. She was asked to perform on the American Ballet Theater stage when she was only fourteen and from there got a scholarship to study at the Chicago Academy for the Arts. After she wasn't allowed to dance as a woman, she dropped out and moved to New York City where she faced even more strife as a homeless teen. Thank goodness, Leyna survived this difficult time in her life by dancing in the ballroom scene at night and waiting tables by day. She became a sensation and was even the first openly trans woman to appear in Vogue India. That's right! She went from homeless to Vogue! Her acting endeavors are only just getting started. She made her debut in the feature film Port Authority (2019) as Wye and from there starred in Fluidity (2019) as Zuni.
