Kulap Vilaysack is the epitome of the American Dream. Her parents fled from a refugee camp in Thailand to the United States where the Laotian lass was born — in Washington, D.C. no less! After being reared in Minnesota, the brainy babe studied at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles. The achievement puts Kulap in the company of the school’s alluring alumni Amanda Bynes and Masiela Lusha. Yet despite her degree, the gorgeous grad continued to train at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. It proved to be a good move (after all, the company did wonders for Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza and Ellie Kemper). But Kulap’s most mamorable turn is as the creator, writer, director, executive producer, and showrunner of the parody series Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ (2016-2019).
