Kindred (2022)

The much-anticipated adaption of Octavia E. Butler’s classic Afro-futuristic sci-fi novel stars sexy newcomer Mallori Johnson as Dana James, a 26 year old black woman that we first meet as she’s settling into her new house in Los Angeles where she hopes to become a television writer. Dana is an orphan who recently sold the brownstone in Brooklyn she inherited from her grandmother, a decision that’s frowned upon by the only family she has left, her aunt and uncle who also live in the area. But her location isn’t the only thing that’s new - since moving Dana is inexplicably time traveling to an 1800’s Baltimore plantation where she repeatedly saves the life of a young white boy named Rufus and discovers that her mother has somehow been stuck the past. During all this she meets a waiter named Kevin (Micha Stock) who tries to help her bring her mother back while also helping her out of her clothes for some good ol’ fashioned boinking. Too bad Mallori keeps mostly covered, stripping down to her underwear in a few scenes and giving us just an outline of her body post-shower, but don’t worry - there’s still plenty of time for Mallori to bare all for the camera.
