Choreographer, performance artist, dancer, and actress Julie Atlas Muz is known to New Yorkers for her outlandish performances in nightclubs and as the hostess of the cable access burlesque game show This or That. She has also appeared in independent productions like Saving Manhattan (1998), All Amateur Ecstasy (2002), and Robot Stories (2003). In 2004 Julie jiggled her jugs, juice box, and junk-in-the-trunk as an undressing woman being spied on through the window by a horny Matthew Broderick in the film Marie and Bruce. You can see some of her burlesque skills in a 2010 episode of the HBO TV series Bored to Death, where she plays herself, performing on stage while topless and encased in a giant condom-like bubble while Jason Schwartzman watches in awe from the audience (this is actually Julie’s signature Balloon Act). The blonde bombshell splits her time between NYC’s lower east side and London, and she’s had an ongoing franchise of her award-winning nightclub acts in Las Vegas, Dubai, France, and Australia. If you’re hip to New York City’s underground nightlife, you may have seen her performances at The BOX, The Slipper Room, House of Yes, or with Suzanne Bartsch. She’s held the titles of Miss Exotic World, Miss Coney Island, and Queen of the Mermaid Parade.
