What were you doing when you were 13? JoJo was kicking ass vocally and not taking names, but making a huge one for herself as the youngest solo artist ever to hit number one on the Billboard top 40, a feat made possible with her huge mega-hit “Leave (Get Out)”—if you look it up on YouTube, you’ll be treated to a whole lot of 2004 memories, and you’ll also be one of the over 104 million people to watch it. Her sophomore album The High Road was released in 2006 and spurned the hit “Too Little Too Late.” And then she seemingly disappeared from the music scene, the result of a seven-year legal battle with her label that started after she finished recording her third LP, but before she could release it. JoJo finally came back in 2016 at the age of 25 with a new label and a new album, Mad Love. She’s been steadily releasing new music over the years, and even picked up a Grammy in 2020 for Best R&B Song for “Say So.” After remembering her young teen Cassie Munro with Robin Williams in RV (2006) and as tomboy Hailey in Aquamarine (2006), fans are finally used to seeing her as a grown-up hottie, complete with an Instagram page filled with swimsuit and cleavage-baring shots to prove it. And Mr. Skin won’t fail to mention her breast-revealing, slit-up-to-here golden dress from the VH1 special Divas Holiday: Unsilent Night (2016). JoJo makes Mr. Skin feel like he’s 13 all over again.
