In the late 1300s the Christian world was torn between two popes, and the period gets dramatized for the small screen in Inquisitio. A schism within the Catholic Church has left one Pope claiming power in Rome and another declaring the papacy resides in Avignon. With both the Italian and the French people hoping to see their own countrymen in a position of power, conspiracies and plots are rife. So when Grand Inquisitor Barnal (Vladislav Galard) is sent to investigate the murder of a priest, he soon finds himself in the center of a plot to destroy the Pope of Avignon. No vow of chastity required when Annelise Hesme and Anne-Sophie Franck flash their fetching funbaguettes for skinspection. They'll get you gushing un-holy water!
