Two of the sexiest starlets on the contemporary Pinoy film scene join forces for Hibla (2002), a drama about friendship that’s distinguished by some eye-opening sex scenes. Isabel (Rica Peralejo) and Clara (Maui Taylor) are long-separated friends whose adult lives have pushed them in very different directions. When they meet following a lengthy absence, both women discover that their personalities are not as compatible as they once were. Director Yam Laranas belabors the women’s contrasting approaches to coital relations, which gives Peralejo and Taylor plenty of opportunities to show off their best features.
