Based on a screenplay by supporting actress Maggie Peren, Ganz und gar (2003) marked the feature-length debut of twenty-five-year-old director Marco Kreuzpaintner. It tells the story of Torge (David Rott), a good-looking small-town stud in his early twenties who has plenty of friends, a job he likes, and a non-committal long-time affair with Geli (Peren). However, his life changes dramatically after he loses a leg in a working accident. Secretly blaming his best friend and colleague Micha (Hanno Koffler), the once self-confident Torge becomes a bitter cynic and starts distancing himself from the others. The only one who manages to occasionally still get through to him is Lisa (Mira Bartuschek), Micha’s ex-girlfriend.
