A painfully safe and expectedly banal family sitcom courtesy of the Disney Channel, Even Stevens enjoyed a brief flirtation with popularity before being canceled in 2002. The focus here is on an upper-middle class family (as if Disney would have it any other way) cleverly named Stevens. Precocious teens Louis (Shia LaBeouf) and Ren (Christy Romano) are center stage, and their after-school adventures reminds one fondly of the ridiculous old Saved By the Bell series. Safe enough for your kids, but they probably deserve something a little less insipid.
