Der Alte (1977-1999)

For nearly 40 years, the German whodunit Der Alte has been a reliable source of brain-tickling murder mysteries for viewers who like to play armchair detective. Star Michael Ande has evolved from playing a senior citizen to actually being one himself over the years, which is actually an asset when it comes to the role of Gerd Heymann, better known by his nickname of "Der Alte" ("The old fox").
