Redheaded hottie Darby Stanchfield was born and raised in Kodiak, Alaska. While that may seem a long way from Hollywood, the girl had ambitions, and moved further south to get her college degree, a Masters in Fine Arts from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. From there, it was only a matter of time before the 5’7” scarlet siren would be noticed by casting directors, and get assigned bit roles in primetime series like Diagnosis Murder, Angel, That ‘80s Show, American Dreams, Monk, Without a Trace, 24, Nip/Tuck, Bones, and Cold Case. She also did a few movies, including The Picture of Dorian Gray (2004) with Josh Duhamel, and Waitress (2007) with Keri Russell. Darby ended her string of one-hit wonders when she landed the regular roles of Amelia Joffe on the daytime drama General Hospital in 2007, April Green in Jericho from 2006-2008, Shannon Gibbs in random episodes of NCIS from 2006-2015, Sienna in Exes & Ohs in 2007 (with just one more in 2011), a retro turn in Mad Men as Helen Bishop from 2007-2008, and the lead role of Nina in the Netflix series Locke in Locke & Key in 2020-2021. More series work added to her resume, with guest spots on Private Practice, The Mentalist, Ghost Whisperer, Life, How I Met Your Mother, CSI: Miami and NY, Burn Notice, and two episodes of Castle, one in 2009 and one in 2013, as the underwear-revealing Meredith with the toned and taut tummy. But perhaps Darby’s most well-known role was in the Kerry Washington-led TV series Scandal, where she splayed Abby Whelan from 2012-2018, where she got into all kinds of mischief—sometimes fully clothed, sometimes not. Red-hot and smoking—that’s Darby.
