Before she went full frontal in This Beautiful City (2007) and won an ACTRA Award of Excellence in the category of Best Actress for it, as well as a grateful nod of appreciation from Mr. Skin, Caroline Cave was appearing on the Canadian stage in productions of Macbeth, The Syringa Tree, Caesar and Cleopatra, and The Man Who Came to Dinner. Born and raised in West Vancouver, she started out as a classical pianist and ballerina, then shifted to theatre and studied at The BFA Acting Conservatory at the University of Alberta and a The Royal National Theatre Studio in London. She made her on-screen debut as Peggy in the film War Bride (2001) with Anna Friel, and has mostly been working in her native Canada for the bulk of her career. Luckily for her neighbors to the south, plenty of Hollywood productions film in Canada, so the chances that you’ve run into Caroline are pretty good. On the big screen, you can catch her as Debbie in Saw VI (2009) with Costas Mandylor, playing Beverly Scott in Power Rangers (2017), and as the boss’s wife in Lasse Hallström’s A Dog’s Purpose (2017) with Josh Gad. In the land of television, she’s appeared in episodes of Stargate: Atlantis in 2007 as Dr. Cole; Showtime’s sexy series The L Word as the 2007 recurring character Lindsey English; playing Libby in Supernatural in 2012; and as a series regular in the CW show Siren, playing Beth Marzdan from 2019-2020; and in Syfy’s Van Helsing from 2017-2021 as Jolene. In Canada, she won a Gemini Award (like an Emmy) for her role as Catherine Scott in Cra$h & Burn from 2009-2010. Mr. Skin could wrap this up with some sort of pun about Caves, but he’s too busy planning his spelunking trip.
